The Boon Brewery produces its Kriek using an ancestral recipe. Kriek Boon is therefore created from a blend of young and old Lambic, matured in oak barrels. Six months later, the fresh cherries are added. Following clarification and filtration, the beer is finally bottled for sale.
This Belgian beer has an attractive ruby colour topped with an attractively colourful head. It has an uncompromising nose strongly evocative of cherries. On the palate, this same cherry flavour dominates, enhanced by a slight acidity. Its finely bitter finish adds to the beer's complexity. So it's a different type of Kriek to what you might be used to.
In order to fully benefit from its complex cherry aromas, drink this beer in a tulip-shaped glass!
