Description
An unfiltered, unpasteurized pilsner brewed with the traditional method of decoction. This adds depth and complexity to its malty character, and makes it very drinkable. Naturally hazy at low temperatures.Generously hopped with a hand-selected batch of old varieties of German noble hops. This yields a fine bitterness, more pronounced than that of the “pils” typical in Belgium today. Eric Toft, brewmaster from Schönram brewery in Bavaria and one of the greatest masters of the style, has coached the Senne brewers about the traditional brewing methods of this peculiar bottom-fermented beer, iconic in Germany and in the Czech Republic. The logo was designed by the brewery’s resident artist, Jean Goovaerts. The Brussels pentagon recalls their symbol, the Atomium, as well as - and most importantly - the recent move of the brewery to its new site of Tour & Taxis, situated in the “1000 Brussels” community.
